EIHA award nominees reflect hemp’s wide range of applications

Six nominees stand to earn the “Hemp Product of the Year 2020” award in this year’s European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) innovation competition, a part of the annual EIHA conference June 16-17.

The six nominees submitted market-ready applications and products based on industrial hemp, spanning food & drinks, bio-composites, textiles, and hemp harvesting technology. A jury of representatives from nova-Institute, the conference organizer, and sponsors of the conference nominated the finalists.

Participants will vote

The candidates will give short presentations during this year’s online-only edition of the EIHA conference, which marks its 17th year in 2020. Conference participants will then vote an overall winner to receive the top award, which is sponsored by the Canadian company Hemp for Health.

More than 30 speakers from leading hemp companies and institutes will address the annual EIHA conference, which brings together experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in the use of hemp for fiber, shivs, seeds, oil and CBD, and applications including textiles, building materials, bio-composites for packaging and automotive, food and feed, food supplements and pharmaceuticals.

The conference program includes discussions following each presentation as well as two panel discussions with leading experts and participants.
